Making Sound Visible. Building Trust.
Noise is a key factor for the acceptance of rail transport, especially in urban areas. With our rail noise monitoring system and permanent measurement stations, operators, authorities, and environmental stakeholders gain objective, continuous rail noise data – automated, location-specific, reliable, and standard-compliant.
We build and operate monitoring systems for the continuous assessment of railway noise and vibrations. Our long-term measurement stations are metrologically proven, suitable for continuous use, and capable of automatically evaluating data according to your needs.
Whether for legally required documentation, the evaluation of technical measures, or communication with residents, our system acquires sound levels in real time, monitors several tracks simultaneously, reliably identifies individual train passages, and makes the data available transparently via a web-based interface. Optional features include identification of train type, speed, and direction. This turns noise into a traceable metric and monitoring into an active contribution to sustainable mobility.

Application areas
- Measurement of rail traffic noise and vibrations as well as the resulting nuisance in terms of emissions and immissions
- Proof of effectiveness of noise reduction measures on railway routes
- Noise monitoring
- Acoustic measurements to determine noise-dependent track prices
- Assessment of the retrofit rate of GG brakes to K/LL brake blocks
- Determination of the quality of wheel treads (flat spots, polygons)
Rail noise monitoring | Benefits
